Published by Tuxedo Park Fire Department, this book focuses on the individuals and families who created Tuxedo Park, the sylvan Hudson Valley enclave that was for decades synonymous with economic influence and upper-class living. From Gilded Age names like Vanderbilt, Astor and Morgan to the ingenious immigrant craftsmen who forged the historic houses of the community, to such social trailblazers as Emily Post and Dorothy Draper, to the founders of Harvard Business School, Orange & Rockland Utilities, Yaddo, and The Juilliard School,
the author weaves together their personal stories in a narrative thread that also tethers them to the history of the New York region between 1885 and 1940. Illustrated with 150 hitherto unpublished historical images drawn from family, museum, and government archives.

All sales proceeds benefit two not-for-profit community organizations: Tuxedo Park Fire Department and Tuxedo Park Library.

The book is available for sale at the Tuxedo Park Library.
